"What If?" Movie Posters: James Dean in "Drive" and Mick Jagger as James Bond

Movie posters are meant to tell a story, spark an emotion and capture your imagination (and of course, make you want to see the movie).  Illustrator Peter Stults has re-imagined several movie posters with alternate casts.  The result is a cool collection of posters that are a mix of art, aspiration and over-the-top awesome.

Fast Company shares more of the posters and reveals that Stults was inspired by artist Sean Hartter, who also offers up a gallery of cinema-twisting posters.

James Dean could easily pull off a scorpion jacket.

The Best TV Ad of 2011: The Bear > The Force

Adweek revealed its 10 Best Commercials of 2011 and while the Darth Vader ad ("The Force") for Volkswagen ranked #1 (anything featuring a "Star Wars" character is inherently awesome), a French ad for the Canal+ movie channel by BETC Euro RSCG (ranked #6) is a torchbearer (pun intended) for truly memorable (and humorous) TV ads.

If you love cinema, you'll love this commercial (and potentially Canal+) ... BOOM! Explosion!

The Indiana Jones World Map and "Raiders" 30th Anniversary Screening in LA

In 1981, director Steven Spielberg and producer George Lucas gave us one of the best action-adventure movies ever made in "Raiders of the Lost Ark."  The highest-grossing film of that year spurred a surge of interest in archeology, global quests, leather jackets and whips.  And now the must-have for fans of the film franchise is the "Indiana Jones World Map" developed by Matt Busch.  The sold-out map features 36 archeological artifacts featured throughout the film, TV and video game properties, as well as the novels and comic books.

Matt created a video to show the map's development process and his love of "Indiana Jones" attire.

If you love "Indiana" as much as Matt, you should wash down that plate of monkey brains with water from the cup that gives everlasting life and head to the free 30th Anniversary screening of "Raiders" on Sept. 12 at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live Stadium 14.  The visionary himself, Steven Spielberg, will participate in a Q&A after the film and you may unearth some new "Indiana" secrets.  Ask him if he looked at the Arc when it was opened and ask moderator Geoff Boucher where he's hiding the audience giveaway - a signed copy of the "Indiana Jones World Map."  Remember, X doesn't mark the spot ... well, only in "Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade."

Facebook by the Fast Numbers - We Average 72 Hours/Year on The Social Network

The April issue of Fast Company features an infographic on "The Business of Facebook."  The average user spends more than 72 hours or three full days per year on Facebook.  Based on the average life expectancy of a male in the United States (and assuming Facebook is around in some form or another), I'm probably going to spend 100 more days of my life giving brands and people a virtual thumbs up! I like the sound of that.

"The Witness" is You - Fate of GPS-Based, Interactive Film is in Your Hands

13th Street Universal in Germany has developed "a mobile based, interactive real-life game," where those selected to play the game (must apply online) meet Nadia, a crime scene and the Russian mafia.

The self-described "first movie in the outernet" gives viewers an immersive AR experience through their smartphones.  The mission starts where Nadia was kidnapped.  The outcome rests in your decisions.  Are you the hero or the next victim?  And more importantly, are you in Berlin?  Because that's the only place where you'll be able to participate and save Nadia.
